Scheduled Emergency Duration Test

Note:

  • To create a scheduled Emergency Duration Test, see Create a Schedule.

  • You must be in Editor mode to create a scheduler entry.

Tip:

The scheduled Emergency Duration Test is used to test the emergency lighting and the endurance of the battery. This should not be done as regularly as the scheduled Emergency Function Test, as it drains the battery for the emergency lighting power.

Configure Scheduled Emergency Duration Test

To configure a scheduled Emergency Duration Test, ensure that the scheduler entry is selected in Scheduler view, and in Properties do the following to configure the entry:

Trigger Time

Time Style

  1. Click in the Time Style field and click .

  2. Select either 'Clock Time' (for 24-hour clock time), 'Dawn Time' or 'Dusk Time' (to set activation of the Emergency Test relative to the pre-determined dusk or dawn times).

Time

Tips:

  • If you select a dusk or dawn time, you can set activation of the test to be at an interval before or after the dusk or dawn time, by clicking in the Offset field and entering the time (in minutes).

  • To configure the offset to be before the dusk or dawn time, enter minus (-) and then the number of minutes.

  • When specifying times relative to dawn or dusk, remember that these times are dependent on the longitude and latitude settings within Designer and may not be suitable for use on a ship, due to the ship's movements. For more information about this, see Longitude and Latitude, Dates and Times and Time Zones.

  • Today's official dawn and dusk times are shown in the Today field. These are calculated using latitude, longitude and date.

If you chose 'Clock Time' in the Time Style field, set the time at which the test is started:

Emergency Test Time Window

The Emergency Test Time Window is the period in which a Scheduled Emergency Test will not be performed on emergency ballasts after an Emergency Test has already been completed.

The Emergency Duration Test will be started on each emergency ballast in the group that has not already completed this test within the specified number of days. It will not perform tests on ballasts that have already completed the test within this time.

Note:

  • By default, a value of 0 is set here which indicates that the test should always be performed on all emergency ballasts in the group, regardless.

  1. Click in the Emergency Time Window field and enter the number of days to ignore tests.

  2. Click to apply the changes.
