You must be Online to start or stop Emergency Tests, or perform any other Emergency Test function.

Tips:

You can automatically test emergency lighting using Scheduler. See Scheduled Emergency Function Test and Scheduled Emergency Duration Test.
The Emergency Test option comes equipped with some out-of-box, preconfigured scheduled Emergency Tests that are fully functional. See Out-of-Box Scheduled Emergency Tests.

DALI emergency lighting is in place in case of a mains power failure to your lighting system. The DALI emergency lighting ballast is fitted with a battery that is kept charged by the mains supply.

There are two types of emergency lighting: maintained and non-maintained.

Maintained emergency lighting is always on and stays on when there is a power failure.
Non-maintained emergency lighting turns on only when there is a power failure.

There are two types of emergency ballast: switchable and dimmable.

Switchable emergency ballasts can be turned on and off at any time and can be maintained or non-maintained.
Dimmable emergency ballasts can be dimmed at any time and can be maintained or non-maintained.

Note:

DALI LED units may be connected to the DALI emergency ballasts and they can be integrated into the fitting or separate from the ballast. These contain status LEDs that indicate the status of the ballast, e.g. lamp failure, charging, Emergency Function Test, Emergency Duration Test, battery failure, normal operation (not in test), etc. For definitions of the LED states of the emergency ballast, see the manufacturer’s operating instructions.
