DMX Subnet Configuration

To configure a DMX Stands for Digital Multiplex. A type of subnet, used mainly for stage lighting and effects control. subnet A subnet is a part of a router. There are two or more subnets on each router. The subnet allows the flow of network traffic between hosts to be segregated, based on network configuration. By organising hosts into logical groups and joining them, subnetting, network security and performance can be improved. :

1. Click on the DMX Subnet in the Devices View.

2. If the Properties view is not already open, select View > Properties, or press F4.

Configure Subnet

Name

It may be useful to name the subnet:

1. Enter a name in the Name field.

2. Click . The subnet is renamed in the Devices view.

Direction

To select the operation of the DMX subnet, do the following. Notice that the operation is set to Out by default.

1. Click in the Direction field, and then click .

2. Do one of the following:

• To control SDIM Stands for ‘Serial DIMming communication’. It is a Helvar communication protocol. and/or DALI devices from the DMX lighting desk, select In (input).

• To make DMX devices operate as control gear For example, dimmers, relay units, ballasts etc. Control gear receives messages from control devices via the router, and performs the relevant action; for example, it sets the lighting (lamps) that it controls to the relevant level. Some control may be possible at the device itself. Also known as LIU or Load; see entries for both., select Out (output).

3. Click .

Enablement

By default, the DMX subnet is enabled. To disable the subnet:

1. Click in the Enabled field, and then click .

2. Select False to disable the subnet.

3. Click .

Condition

By default, the DMX subnet always performs its functions. To apply a condition to the subnet:

1. Click in the Condition field, and then click .

2. Select a condition from the drop-down menu.

3. Click .
