DMX Device Configuration

Configure Item

1. Click on the DMX 'In' device in the Devices View.

2. If the Properties view is not already open, select View > Properties, or press F4.

Name

It is useful to name the item according to its location or purpose:

1. In the Common section, click in the Name field.

2. Enter a name for the device.

3. Click . The device is renamed in the Devices view.

Controlled Channel

Allocate which channel A channel pertaining to a load (also known as control gear or LIU), see entry for load. A ballast has one channel, whereas a dimmer or relay unit can have numerous channels. on the controlled SDIM Stands for ‘Serial DIMming communication’. 1. In the DMX Loads section, click in the Controlled Channel field.

2. Enter a channel (from 1 to 512).

3. Click .

The device is now configured and ready for use in the lighting system A network of client PCs, routers, control devices, control gear, and lamps.
