Match

Note:

  • You must be in Editor mode to match pairs of items.

Match is a single item matching tool.

Tips:

  • You can only match items that already have their parent items matched to each other. For example, you cannot match two modular panels if the routers to which they belong have not been matched to each other.

  • If you click and drag an item from the Upload Design to the real workgroup / workgroup design, and the parents are not matched to each other, then Designer asks if you want to attempt to automatically match the parents and ancestors of the selected items.

  1. Select an item in the Upload view.

  2. Drag it to the desired item in the Real Workgroup / Workgroup Design tree. If the items cannot be matched, then 'click and drag' is not possible.

OR

  1. Select an item in the Upload view.

  2. Select an item in the real workgroup / workgroup design tree. If the selected items can be matched, the icon is enabled.

Tips:

  • Only similar items can be selected; i.e. Workgroups can only be matched with Workgroups; routers can only be matched with routers; and subnets can only be matched with subnets.

  • Control devices can only be matched with control devices of an identical type.

  • Control Gear (loads) have a certain amount of flexibility when matching, due to their generic nature; i.e. you can match different types of ballasts, different types of dimmers and different types of relay units.

  1. To match these items, click .

Note:

  • You can cross-match (match items on different addresses), but for DALI devices, the system (Real Workgroup) / workgroup design addresses are changed to match the upload design addresses; and for SDIM devices, the upload design addresses are changed to match the Real Workgroup / workgroup design addresses.

  1. Check the device alerts beside the matched items to ascertain if further matches need to be made, or if a problem exists in this part of the tree.

  2. To match more of the upload design to the Real Workgroup / workgroup design, repeat this process from step 1, as required.

Tips:

  • Match takes precedence over Compare. If a pair has been matched using Compare, then you can override that match by using the Match tool, but you must break the match first.

  • If two routers are matched, then scene information will be uploaded to that router.
