458/OPT4 – Options Module

The Options Module is a four-channel A channel pertaining to a load (also known as control gear or LIU), see entry for load. A ballast has one channel, whereas a dimmer or relay unit can have numerous channels. output unit for use with the 458/DIM8 Dimmer Module and the 458/SW8 Switching Module. It can be used to convert four channels into 0/10 V sink (switched), 0–10 V source, 1–10 V sink, DSI® A protocol used for the controlling of lighting in buildings. The technology uses a single byte to communicate the lighting level. DSI® (Digital Signal Interface) was the start of digital communication technology and the precursor to DALI. DSI® is a registerd trademark of Tridonic GmbH., PWM Stands for ‘Pulse Width Modulation’. PWM can be used to reduce the total amount of power delivered to a load, without losses normally incurred when a power source is limited by resistive means. forward and reverse, or DALI Broadcast.

The outputs:

• have common 0 V;

• are screw terminal output connectors;

• are double-isolated from the 458’s SDIM Stands for ‘Serial DIMming communication’. It is a Helvar communication protocol., Override, TouchPanel and DALI connections; and

• can be paralleled with dimmer channels, or be additional channels.
