Click to expand the Rotary (100) device in the Devices View.
Click on the rotary subdevice.
If the Properties view for the subdevice is not already open, select View > Properties, or press F4.
It may be useful to name the rotary:
In the Common section, enter a name in the Name field.
Click . The subdevice is renamed in the Devices view.
If you want the rotary to perform the function according to a certain condition, and if the condition is not met then to use an alternative function (see Conditions):

In the Keys section, click in the Use Main Set field. Notice that the condition is set to Always by default.
Click , and then select the condition from the drop-down menu.

In the Main Set section, click in the Group field.
Enter the group to which you want the rotary to be assigned. (0 = Ungrouped).
Click .
There are two parts of the rotary function: Step and Twist. Step denotes a single step on the rotary switch and twist denotes a turn on the rotary switch (i.e. multiple steps). Configure both as below:
By default, the function is set to Rotary. You can choose to not use the function:
In the Step section, click in the Function field.
Click , and then select Not Used from the drop-down menu.
Click .
This is the rate at which the rotary modifies the channels in the group.
In the Step section, click in the Step Rate field.
Click , and then select a rate from the drop-down menu.
Click .
If you want the rotary to perform this part of the function according to a certain condition (see Conditions):
In the Step section, click in the Condition field. Notice that the condition is set to Always by default.
Click , and then select the condition from the drop-down menu.
Click .
In the Twist section, configure as above.
The rotary is now configured and ready for use in the lighting system .
