Create a Sun Tracking Routing Entry |
|||
This topic explains how to create a Sun Tracking Routing Entry capable of sending up to 16 different scene calls to a group of devices based on:
the calculated position of the sun at a specific location; and
the actual amount of light detected by the interior- or exterior-mounted light sensors.
As with all Designer routing entries, you can set Conditions, so that the desired scenes are called only under certain circumstances. You can also set sun-tracking specific conditions that change which scene is called and when. For information on sun tracking routing entries, see Sun Tracking Routing Entries.

To create a sun tracking routing entry:
Go Online to your lighting system.
If the sun tracking routing entry needs to take into account the amount of light detected by the light sensors, do the following:
Select the router to which the light sensors are connected.
If necessary, create the group to which you want to assign the sun sensors. For information about how to create a group, see Groups Window.
From the View menu, select Routing Entries, or click , to display the Routing Entries view.
Right-click in the Routing Entries view, point to Insert, and then select Sun Tracking.
The Sun Tracking routing entry appears in the Routing Entries view.
Select the Sun Tracking routing entry that you have just inserted, and then select Properties from the View menu or press F4 to display the Properties view of the routing entry.
In the Properties view, under Common, in the Name text box, type a name for the new routing entry.
From the Allow Further Routing drop-down list, select True to permit further routing entries to occur, or select False to prevent them from occurring.
To apply a condition on when the sun tracking routing entry must occur, select it from the Condition drop-down list.
Note:
|
Under Controlled Group do the following:
Do one of the following to specify the group to which the router must send the message that triggers the required action.
From the Group Name drop-down list, select the name of the relevant group.
From the Group Number drop-down list, enter the number of the relevant group.
From the Scene Block, select the number of the scene block to which the router must send the message that triggers the required action.
If required, under Routing Entry Action, from the Fixed or Constant Light drop-down list, select the appropriate scene recall message.
Note:
|
To specify how long the transition between the various scenes must take, type the required period of time in the Fade Time text box under Fade Time.
Note:
|
Under Settings, do the following:
To enable test mode, select the Test Mode check text box.
Note:
|
To apply a light sensing condition, select it from the Light Sensing Condition drop-down list.
To apply a sun tracking condition, select it from the Sun Tracking Condition drop-down list.
Notes:
|
Under Azimuth Profile, do one of the following to define the field of view of the relevant window:
To specify the angle of the field of view, do the following:
In the Compass Point drop-down combo box, enter the direction of the vertical plane perpendicular to the centre of the window.
In the Field of View drop-down list, enter the angle, in degrees, of the desired field of view.
Note:
|
To enter the two sides of the angle that defines the field of view, do the following:
In the Field of View From drop-down combo box, enter the angle, in degrees, that the first side of the field of view makes with the vertical plane perpendicular to the centre of the window.
In the Field of View To drop-down combo box, enter the angle, in degrees, that the second side of the field of view makes with the vertical plane perpendicular to the centre of the window.
Under Elevation Profile, in the Elevation (and above) for Scene XX combo boxes, enter the sun’s minimum height required for the router to recall the corresponding scene. To indicate this height, enter the angle between the sun and the horizon.
