Remote Connection
   

You can connect to the lighting system with a remote computer, via the Internet. This is called a Remote Desktop Connection (RDC, also called Remote Desktop).

 

RDC: Remote Desktop Connection

RDC is the client application for Terminal Services. It allows the user to remotely log in to a networked computer running the Terminal Services server. RDC presents the desktop interface of the remote system, as if it were accessed locally.

 

Terminal Services

Terminal Services is one of the components of Microsoft Windows that allows a user to access applications and data on a remote computer, over any type of network, although best used when dealing with a Wide Area Network (WAN) or Local Area Network (LAN). Contact your IT Administrator for advice on the various methods of Remote Desktop Connection and what is the best method for your type of network.

Note:

  • You can perform a Remote Desktop Connection with or without VPN , although it is recommended that you use VPN because it is more secure. For information, see Connect via VPN.
