Router Firmware Update Has Failed |
|||
Updating the firmware of a router involves removing the existing firmware and replacing it with the firmware update. This process leaves the router without its firmware for a short time, during which it cannot function. If the power fails during a firmware update then the router remains unable to function. However, the router is designed to recover if a firmware update fails for other reasons.
Power failure or interruption at the Client PC , router or network.
Communication failure between Client PC and router.
If the power supply to the router failed during the firmware update then the router must be returned to Helvar to restore the firmware. Contact Helvar Customer Support for further assistance. See Helvar Customer Support.
If the power did not fail during the firmware update, try the firmware update again.
Connect the router directly to the Client Computer, then try the firmware update again. This is the simplest connection and avoids many network-related communication issues that may be affecting the firmware update.
It may be that the cable has a fault. Try a different cable.
If the firmware update still fails, contact Helvar Customer Support for further assistance. See Helvar Customer Support.
